Effects of Bulk Thermal Properties on Polymer Transfer

Thickness of traces formed by rubbing soft polymers of predetermined viscoelastic properties against counterfaces of different thermal conductivities were measured. Results show that thickness is governed essentially by the variation of the mechanical properties of the polymer with temperature.
